CLOWN 1 WEEK – THE COURAGE TO BE – NEAR LEUVEN, BELGIUM

with Vivian Gladwell and An Valenteyn
Workshop in English

The word “courage” comes from a root that means “heart.” Through clowning and connecting to our playful spirit we can develop and sustain, in ourselves and each other, the heart to be who we truly are, to trust life and ourselves. “Taking heart” is a profoundly inward process, and an invitation for overcoming the fears that block us from being fully present in the “Here and Now.” This course establishes the ground for all our work and is an essential first step before going on to more advanced courses.
The group is limited to 12

The workshop ‘Clown I,’ is the discovery of your clown’s home base. It is the first of a series of three workshops. Essential in that phase are mirroring, listening, connecting and expressing the innerworld.

An Valenteyn

An was born in Belgium where she lives and works. She trained as a social worker and went on to study mime and movement theatre at the Lassaad International School in Brussels – a school influenced by the teachings of Jacques Lecoq.

She became so inspired by clowning as a playful and authentic way of being and living in the moment that in 2006 she joined the Cliniclown team in Belgium working as a hospital clown. She is also a coach and a trainer for new members of the team.

In 2015 she met Nose to Nose. She finished the Clown facilitator training in 2023 with Nose to Nose. She also performs as a clown and actor in music theatre.
