This course offers further practice of clowning with the focus on structure and relationship (such as the Elder-Younger structure). At this level come we practice responsiveness to and awareness of your partner on stage, your audience and the images, stories and characters that emerge during improvisation. The teaching method will emphasize finding greater insights into the techniques of improvisation and performance, providing enough challenges and inspiration to take your understanding of this work forward.
Level II is a pre-requisite for Clown 3, Towards Performance and Social Clowning.
Vivian is the founder and director of Nose to Nose and has given hundreds of workshops around the world. He lives both in the UK and France where he started clowning in 1978. He speaks French and English fluently.
Vivian began teaching in 1988 as part of the Lifeways Festival at Emerson College – UK. He trained as a facilitator with the Bataclown in 1990 and joined their team in 1991 also working as a modern day Court Jester (Clownanalyst).
He created Nose to Nose UK in 1990, Nose to Nose of North America in 2006 and Fool View, the Social Clowning group and has trained facilitators in the UK, the USA, Germany and Italy – view history.
He continues his role as ambassador for the work by researching the applications of clowning in the context of teacher training, medicine, conflict management, ecology and intercultural work in many countries (South Africa, USA, Senegal, Vietnam, India, Malaysia, Italy, Germany, Norway…)
He holds clowning as a social playground for exploring our humanity.
Piotr fell in love with theatre clown during his studies at Speech and Drama School in UK. He is a trained facilitator with Nose to Nose and has given many workshops starting in 2006. He is also a qualified and experienced therapeutic speech and drama practitioner. He takes part in intercultural and social clowning workshops and performances with Nose to Nose and Bata Clown (France). He facilitates clowning workshops in Ireland, Poland and Holland. Since a few years he has been a visiting teacher for drama students at KCAT Art Centre in Callan, Co Kilkenny.

Fee €350 – (a deposit of €120 is required to hold your place –Your deposit is NOT REFUNDABLE LESS than 2 months before the start of the course. There is a €20 fee for refunds – for Paypal fees + admin costs. If the course is cancelled your deposit will be refunded in full.)
